The Diamond Valley Arts Council’s 4th Annual Festival of the Arts promises to be bigger and better than ever. The juried Festival Exhibition, which showcases the talents of outstanding artists in the region, has been expanded to include One-Act Plays and Short Music Compositions in addition to the Visual Arts and Literary Arts of previous years.

The weekend’s activities get underway at 6:30 PM on Friday evening, October 16th with the traditional black-tie-optional Festival Gala.  One of the premier arts events of the year, the Festival Gala offers a preview of the Festival Exhibition, features live music and performances, as well as fine wine and hors d’oeuvres.  It is also your opportunity to demonstrate the importance of the arts and culture by your very presence; through an opportunity drawing; or through the acquisition of art that will be available for sale.

Tickets for the Festival Gala are just $35 per person when purchased before October 1, 2009 and $45 per person thereafter.  In addition to admission to the Friday Gala, these tickets are also good for the Festival Exhibition on Saturday and Sunday.  Advance sale Gala tickets will be available beginning August 21st at the Esplanade Arts Center located at 2191 W. Esplanade Ave. in San Jacinto at the corner of Sanderson Ave. and Esplanade next to the Fresh & Easy Market.

On Saturday and Sunday, October 17th and 18th, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the Festival Exhibition is open to the public.  Admission is only $5.00 for adults and there is no charge for children 17 years of age and under when accompanied by an adult.  The Festival Exhibition affords the members of our community the opportunity to see and hear the works of the artists, authors, musicians, playwrights, poets and photographers of the juried exhibition.  In addition to selected works from the exhibition, local performing artists will be featured throughout the both days.

For ticket information, sponsorship opportunities or general information about the festival, send us an email or call (951) 651-1964.  For information regarding the juried art exhibition go to the Call for Entries page.

SAVE-THE-DATE, October 16 – 18, 2009.  See you then.
